« Jonell is the Lune », commonly known as Jonelllune is a Neo contemporary artist.
He defines art as a creative process consisting in materializing the immaterial, relying on universal notions to bring a singular reflection. He uses different artistic channels to bring a new reflection on the notion of Time.
Therefore, he transposed this reflection in a musical way to give birth to a sonic substance: MUTA.
Muta is an acronym for Musical Universe Testing Arithmetic, but it’s also a prefix used to define the MUTAtion of a living genre. His first single « HEAVEN » is a MUTA-DRILL record, presented through a short film created, performed, produced and edited by himself.
The Parisian born/London based artist perfected his lunar sound between LA and Paris with his long time partner « PILOT » and Seb Gohier the engineer who worked with the international artist Björk, but who's notably notorious for being a part of KanYe West's 6th studio album «Yeezus » alongside The weekend, Travis Scott, Che Pope, Anthony Kilhoffer, Noah Goldstein etc.
Inspired by the Yeezus era, Jonelllune redefines the meaning of identity in art and in society. His first project to come is called Melpomene.
In Greek mythology, Melpomene is initially the muse of chorus who eventually became the muse of tragedy. She is often represented with a tragic mask made of stone. Jonell used Melpomene to represent the tragedy of humanity. A tragedy reflected by the covid that forced us to wear a mask.
In sum, Jonelllune invites us to discover his different faces behind his mask, throughout his artistic journey.
